Compagnia delle Opere was set up in 1986 as an association between businessmen who wanted to use their human and economic resources for the common good.
Since then, CDO’s activities have taken the form of initiatives aimed at emphasising the importance of the individual in society and at work, and at promoting a view of people, markets and nations inspired by the principles of responsible
freedom, solidarity and subsidiarity.
Today, CDO has 38 sections in Italy and 17 abroad. CDO’s membership includes over 36,000 companies, most of which are profit and non-profit SMEs.
